   Over the past years 20 years or so interest in local, and fresh food has been on the rise. This is shown by the growth in farmers markets and the inception of the CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) model.

    Microgreens have a place in this growing interest in fresh, healthy food. Microgreens are tender, delicate, flavorful and nutritious.

   Along with the variety of flavors (sweet to savory) is the beautiful variation in color and texture.

Until recently, microgreens were only used by chefs in the high end restaurants in metropolitan areas. They actually had to acquire their microgreens by mail order.

   Now the best in microgreens in the southern California market are fresh, available and affordable through Petals'n Greens.

Edible Flowers?? What is that all about?

   Yes, edible flowers are fantastic for many culinary creations. Perfect for adding tiny, yet intense splashes of color (and even flavor) for salads, cocktails and desserts.

    While this may sound unusual, many of our day to day vegetables and herbs are actually flowers. Broccoli, artichoke and cauliflower are actually flowers. And, many herbs come from the flower of the host plant.

   While lavender flowers present a beautiful display and aroma...your first bite into a lavender flower may be a delightful surprise.

We continue to expand our greenhouse space and are still looking for more space.
